CalGuns, Need Help Quick - Walther p1

I'm in Cabelas in Lehi Utah at the moment trying to buy a Walther P1 dated 1979. They don't want to sell to me based on the date. I know this is a non-issue, but I don't think they are going to sell it to me. Please reference what article within the C&R book that clarifies that this is OK. What noobs...

Please help me out and I'll post pictures when I get back home.
    Thanks gang

Ask them what does the date have to do with anything. It's listed per ATF as a C&R so you can legally buy it. When they say something about your CA FFL, remind them it is a FEDERAL Firearms License, and as long as your out of the state, CA laws no longer apply to you. If they will sell to other states FFL holders then they need to sell to you.
An err on the side of caution, is still an err. - me

      Thanks CaliB&R!
So I stood my ground on the matter insisting they were incorrect and it escalated until the manager finally called his buddy at ATF. ATF buddy clarified that I was correct. $349 later I was on my way. Cash and carry is very cool - on the way out the door I was thinking F@&$ yeah Utah. I'll post pics of the P1, along with the 1895 Nagant I copped last week, when I get back home this weekend.

If that was for an unissued P1, you got a smokin deal!!! Turners was charging $379 for those, on sale IIRC.
