    Interesting percussion cap muzzleloader

This is an interesting gun. The gold inlay is very nice. Unfortunatly all that I can find on Portee-Garantie are double barrel shotguns and pistols. I would like to know more about this gun. A caliper reads ~.64 so I am assuming it is a 62 cal. The Belgein proof mark dates back as far as 1810.

No, I am researching it's value for a widow. It is pretty cool, the pictures don't really show them well, but all the engravings are done by hand. It shoulders rather comfortably but is missing the rear site and it seems someone shellacked it.

You'd better put a bullet button on that being it has a pistol grip

It is sensational - what a rare bird!

I have seen a Tranter rook rifle with a vaguely similar stock - but I think the rook rifles were commonly a smaller bullet than a .62"
The Tranter was described as having an ultra rare pistol grip stock in the auction catalogue.

Really interesting - is there any evidence (worn bluing) that the stock was a replacement for a regular rifle stock. It looks matching, really interesting - thanks for posting.

I cannot value accurately, but, I would expect to pay premium for this one.
