Mosin Nagant M38 or Mauser K98 *correction: M48 not K98*

That mauser is a Yugoslavian M48, not a K98. M48s are easy to find.
What year/arsenal is the M38?Originally posted by GoodEyeSniperMy neighbors think I'm a construction worker named Bruce.
Little do they know that's just my stripper outfit and name.Originally posted by ChopperXI am currently cleaning it and I noticed when I squeeze the snake this white paste like substance comes out. That's not an M-38 Mosin.
That is a 91/59 Mosin. Chances are it also has a better bore.
This is not as common as an M-48. I'd take the 91/59. And you'd be surprised at how reasonable accurate they are.
In my experience, the fit and finish of the 91/59 is nicer than the wartime Russian guns.sigpic

I totally skipped over the M/N carbine. Rojo is right, it's a 91/59. Arguably the most accurate mosin carbine, they are made out of cut down 91/30s. They are even harder to find than M38s. I'd take the mosin. (big shocker there lol)Originally posted by GoodEyeSniperMy neighbors think I'm a construction worker named Bruce.

Also, did you notice that the bolt body is of the older type, with the step at the stem of the bolt handle?
Mine is like that too, and it has the older Izhevsk bow and arrow instead of triangle and arrow marks.
Here is a recent pic of mine (which also does not have the pressed in estucheons at the rear but it does in the front). For some reason, I thought that they remade these on M-38 stocks. It is not an M-44 stock since it doesn't have the inletting for the bayonet.

Well balistically the 8mm/7.62X54r/30-06 are all in the same family and man that pig would just get blown away. Yeah you get the kill but no meat?Comment

Since you said m48 I'd say take the m38. Cheaper ammo and more rare.Comment

I'd go with both, and then you can sell me the M91/59. I guess, that betrays my preference, but I already have an M48 and M48A.DiaHero Foundation - helping people manage diabetes. Sending diabetes supplies to Ukraine now, any help is appreciated.
