I recently bought an enfield that the owner and myself thought was a no4 mk11. After looking closer the rifle says no4 mk1. What's the difference in these rifles? Also I may be changing the barrel on this would a mk2 barrel work? Any value difference? Also how can I tell the maker?

it'll be a Mk I or Mk I*, no such thing as a Mk 11sigpicCertainly there is no hunting like the hunting of man and those who have hunted armed men long enough and liked it, never really care for anything else thereafter.

I worded it the way I did to avoid him thinking I wasn't happy with what I bought in which case I am. Do you have anything to add to the questions I asked?

The second one down is a No.4Mk1, the fourth is a No.4Mk.2. Going from memory the upper hand guards are different and I think the rear sight is also different. I can take a closer look and make some measurements when I get home if you want.
