    SOLD ....6 million Springfield M1 @ Turner's Signal Hill

    ^^^SOLD per Pogo's post below^^^

Okay, I still cannot believe I am passing on this... so I hope this goes to a Calgunner.

Turners Signal Hill has a Springfield 609xxxx serial numbered M1 Garand, it has the original barrel (4-56) and the chamber is in the white. Since I almost passed out when I saw it I ran right home and grabbed my gauges - the throat is 4 - 4.2 and the muzzle is 3.5. And the timing is perfect.

It has a -65 series oprod and -65 series bolt, SA WH sights, the stock is a Springfield with a 1/2" DOD stamp that is 80% there. The trigger group is the only non-matching part it is a SA-12 housing and has a BMB hammer and safety. All the rest of the internals are late and correct for the rifle.

Now the kicker - it is priced at only $800.

This is at least a $1000-$1500 rifle, I would buy it but I have too many irons in the fire right now. This is a great chance to fill that elusive 6million hole in your Grand collection.

    BTW they open @10am.

***this is NOT my rifle, I am just passing on this great deal***

I was there and saw it.

It is exactly as Toolman9000 says it is and all the details are correct. I was at Turners and it is a nice piece. Hope somebody buys it.

Does anyone know if Turners will ship this rifle to a N. CA FFL?

I looked at the Signal Hill website and looks like they probably won't.

      Just checking.

I would be utterly amazed if this rifle doesn't sell within seconds of the store opening. I sold a 6mil *stripped* receiver 2 years ago for $600,

I'm new to C & R, so forgive me if this is a stupid question, but what's the significance of a M1 with a 6M serial?

800 means they ripped off the poor soul that sold it to them...

It was a consignment, so the seller of the rifle set the price. They didn't know what they had...

These were the last of the USGI Garands, very few were made and they had the highest fit and finish of any Springfields... usually command a 40% premium on price, most were made into National Match rifles. This is one of those holy grail rifles you need to have a well rounded M1 Garand collection.

That price would be decent for a barrel that has that bad of a muzzle.. and even a TE of 4 -4.2 is too high in my book with aMW of 3.5........

Do they have the usual 30 day pawn hold? Believe you also have a 10 day wait after DROS unless you have a C&R and COE. You may not get to take it home for another month.

If it is close to mine, we should put them together. Congrats on a great piece of history.

                              Here she is......

I'm going to start looking for a 4-56 barrel, otherwise, I have everything I need to put this rifle back into new and original condition.
