Hand loading 7.5x55mm

I just got done watching some YouTube demonstrations on removing the Berdan primers from GP11 surplus ammo. And, got to wondering, if the guys that shoot the Swiss 7.5x55mm reload the GP11 ammo or if they buy boxer primer brass and reload those instead.

I'm considering adding a K11 or K31, but if I can only shot the surplus ammo once without going to all the trouble of removing the Berdan primers and than having to find new ones, I think I'll pass. So, is there cheap ammo for these rifles that doesn't use the Berdan primers, or new brass that will take boxer primers?

I don't reload the once-fired GP11 brass since Grafs sells the virgin Prvi brass. Also, Norma makes brass for 7.5 Swiss.

Prvi sells the loaded Swiss 7.5 if you don't plan to reload.

I'm very pro SRDC cuz my Father was one of the founders, but Latigo and Kestryll put a lot into that long thread so you wouldn't have to go there.

Run some .284 Winchester brass through your 7.5x55 dies and you have instant 7.5 brass. The walls are thicker than commercial 7.5 brass so you should reduce your loads slightly. It is very stout brass and will last a long time.

I use Prvi, no problems at all. The Graf's labeled brass seems softer, I've had some case mouth deformation problems.

Buy some Boxer cases. It is a hassle dealing with Berdan, to say the least. I still save the GP11 cases though, in the event it becomes easier someday.

A lot of good info there, I'm just having a hard time digesting it all. But, I'm in no rush, and in time I'll get it.

Buy some Boxer cases. It is a hassle dealing with Berdan, to say the least. I still save the GP11 cases though, in the event it becomes easier someday.

Since I've yet to reload any ammo of any kind yet. (press scheduled for delivery tomorrow) I'll probably be shooting GP11 to start and will probably save the cases as well.

But, when I do start reloading, I'll probably go with opensightsonly's suggestion of using Prvi or Norma brass.

Prvi and Wolf Gold for me. No one can reload berdan primed cases without finding the correct berdan primers for the case to be loaded. There is no steady supply of berdan primers in the US so, good luck finding them on a regular basis.
