I bought every single one of my SKS rifles from other members on Calguns. I've seen them at gun shows too but they are often overpriced and in rough shape.

Finding SKS rifles isn't hard. Finding ones that are not bubba'd, not too expensive, and not beat to hell, now that's the hard part.

And you might be lucky like cessnapilot and come across a Russian DDR (East Germany). Its a fun journey on collecting these rifles from all over the world.
the lack of funds is my only problem.. i spend all i can and then some.

So how do you know for certain that its a refurb? I'm not that into C&R rifles, but have one 53 russian sks so I'd like to know if its original non-refurb or a refurb.

well you can post some pics up here and me and the SKS freaks can take a look. A good place to do some self-research is here = http://yooperj.com/SKS.htm

this is the place to go and where I get my info. Also Kehaya & Poyer SKS book is excellent, tells you whats a refurb, non-refurb, and so on. Not a bad way to spend 20 bucks.

I read the Kehay & Poyer book cover to cover. By the time I was done my SKS knowledge had increased vastly.

I'm still looking for my dream SKS: A Tula Russian with a Tapco tiger striped stock, NCStar red dot, UTG Bipod, and Promag 10/30 extended magazine with bullet button.

Hopefully the seller will have saved me some work by throwing away the Arctic Birch stock and that stupid gold bayonet.

This post is making me feel phisically ill. I'm so so broke right now that later today I'm being forced to part with my Russian all matching #'s SKS in order to pay my mortgage. I love that gun...

I saw that rifle you are selling. It is a beauty, and sadly irreplaceable..unlike most of the tacti-junk being sold nowadays.
