Was out shooting my 1860 Army and experienced my first chain fire. Thankfully the chamber that detonated was to the 2-3 o clock-ish so the bullet did not contact the gun at all...wouldve been a different story if it was on the left side where it could've hit the wedge... Anyway I forgot to grease the chambers after loading which I attribute to be the problem. Scared the crap outta me. I used either grease to seal the chambers or a lubed felt wad afterwards and had no other problems. I was using pinched #11 remington caps because I couldnt find #10 remingtons anywhere... and #10 CCI caps do not fit all the way and require multiple strikes to set off. Hopefully this chainfire will be my last, I would be pretty upset if the bullet had made a gash alongside my revolver...
