    What Mauser 98 variant is this? 1st SS Division Leibstandarte



    Looks like a full length Gewehr 98 but has finger groove stock and non-roller coaster sights. Not a Mauser expert just an amateur here

      Never seen one with a stock disc like that. Maybe a special model for the SS at the time?

        It's probably on of the Gew.98 rifles that the SS had updated to K98 specs. You'll notice those also have straight bolts.

                It was a transitionary thing, if you will.


                As you know, most of the other SS rifles were made by exclusively by Steyr.
