Depends on what you mean. Made it to the front, maybe, shot at a bad guy, less likely. Cleaned from the muzzle so much that it needed counterboring, more usual.

The first one, the chances are excellent. The others, I'd say the chances are slim. During WWII, the Soviets didn't really seem to have a reserve supply. Make it, ship it to front, hand to Ivan, hand Ivan's friend bullets, go.

        Mosins in battle

I own a 1938 Izzy M91/30 with a "P 41" and "SA" markings, that has what appears to be pieces of shrapnel in the forward part of the stock, along with a small amount of damage.

My guess is that it saw some action at the front during the Winter War.

Many were rearsenalled after the war so it can be hard to tell. I'd bet most did see action at some point though.
          Because milsurp.

Only one way for a rifle to be captured by the Finns....

I'm willing to bet at least my 1931 Ex-drag was somewhere. It's re-arsenaled and it came with a post-war laminate stock.

                It was somewhere.

I understand the overlying question, but we don't know, except for the Mauser I am trying to sell.

We are talking about rifles. Any soldier would tell you they would rather not see balls to the wall number crunch battle.

I've wondered the same thing about all of my battle rifles; not only if they were used in battle but whether or not they actually killed somebody.

I know my old Finn rifles did as well as my Finn captured SVT-40. Same goes for my vet bringback M44.

                      Depends entirely on the rifle.

I have a Romanian contract VZ-24 which more than likely saw action on the eastern front and I also have No. 4 from 1943, as short handed as the British were during that time, the chances that it made it to the front line are pretty good.

My Remington M1917 saw action in WWI and was brought back home as a war trophy.
