    K98 Mojo Sights--help!

Hey guys, my Mojo sights came in for the Mauser yesterday. I got the old rear sight out without much trouble, but I cannot for the life of me get the new one in. It slips right into place without the spring, so sizing is not the issue. I've tried using a tool to compress the spring from the front, even tried using a C-Clamp with a shim--it just kept slipping off because there isn't a flat surface to work with. There is also no way I can see to shoehorn the spring in underneath the sight.

Is there something I'm missing here? This seems ridiculously difficult. My hand is killing me from repeated attempts.

    Thanks!

    Hello,

    Ever apply a tourniquet?

    Stolen using Google...

I use this method with paracord or just plain ol' 1/4" rope, and a block on the rear sight.

Of course I do this on Mosins, but the Mauser should be very similar.

This has the added benefit of not marring the stock.

I'll be interested in seeing your groups after you get that thing on. Some folks love 'em and some folks hate 'em. Doesn't seem to be much middle ground. I did not like them, or the price, and that's why I made my own front sight, which led to the Mosin sight business.

I would also be honored, Sir, if you were to shoot against me here: http://www.calguns.net/calgunforum/s...d.php?t=605451

It would be an even match as I'm using modified sights as well.

SKSer45 will not shoot a modified Mauser against my Mosin because when he loses, he wants an excuse...

    Regards,

    Josh
