mosin bolt problem!

Ok so a friend of mine bought a mosin and Im helping him out with the cosmo cleaning. Problem is when I depress the spring to remove the the part where the safety is it wont twist off and now wont twist back on. I put WD40 on it last night but it still wont budge. ANY IDEAS?

You probably got it in at an angle.


Wiggle it around to loosen it up; see what happens. It has happened to me before. If you line up the cocking piece correctly, it shouldn't happen.

did you remove it, or just try to remove it ? use that tool it came with, on the firing pin end insert the guage and hold the round knob and turn counter clock wise. if you get it apart with the spring removed thread it on and off a few times to clean up the threads. the first time i did one i screwed up. now i can do it without looking. just do not force it. HAVE FUN it is built like a dump truck you cant hurt it.

right on. I used the tool and twisted it out.
