I was there too, I guess it depended on where you were looking. At several of the new guns displays people were holding thier credit cards out hoping to be the next person in line to get to buy a gun. Lots of ladies buying stuff too.

Powder, primers and loaded ammo going fast, as usual. Prices were better than local stores, lots of people dealing.

I bought some nice things there.
Circled a WW2 Walther PP and holster, circled, lol.

This was a curiosity, that I found.

Repackaged 7.92Kurz, I have quite a few boxes of this, of different types, some repackaged Yugo, East German, Postwar.
This is the first I've seen with an English language sticker from the 1950's.
The ammo is 1945 - the stripper clips WW2, also.
Not a big one, and it was only a couple of dollars, but interesting to me.

Still could not find any 10.6 for the Reichsrevolver, so the search continues...

Bought a LOT of other ammo - found some Austrian blanks for work, at a very good price.

My wrist stamp sweated off, so not sure if I feel like going back tomorrow, lol.

But it was a good day for Pit.

I had several booths I visited multiple times where each time I went back, a gun I had stared at or held briefly had sold. I bought a French MAS-36 rifle after a few rounds of scouring the racks.

glad i didn't go, my safe is already full and i've got another carcano and arisaka coming to me. were there a lot of neat c&r's or just the usual stuff? mas 36 is pretty rare, i bought my 36/51 there after some dork refused to cash & carry an fr-8 i walked directly across like 10 ft away and bought the 36/51, lol. picked up a good part of my collection at costa mesa but i'm glad i didn't go. too hot and not enough money to spend would frustrate me.

After going to the Ontario and Glendale show's the past month, I was extremely surprised at the amount of C&R guns that were present. Ontario barely had anything (at least for what I was looking for and prices were too high), Glendale got better (actually bought something), and Costa Mesa trounced all over them. My brother and I had been looking for a K-31 at the other shows and didn't see one. Costa Mesa had two 31's, a 31/55 sniper, and the original Schmidt Rubin 1898 long rifle. I would have picked up one of the 31's if I hadn't just bought one from Simpson LTD. All were priced accordingly or just under market value.

As far as the MAS-36 goes, there were at least 3-4 around, and a couple MAS-49/56. Mine that I bought is a 1939 version that was imported by Century, but NOT converted to .308. It looks like it hasn't even been fired! The bore is in pristine perfect condition. Cash and carry price - $175.

Other cool guns that I saw - a few Russian SVT-40's, Finnish Mosin Nagants, Steyr M-95's, more Ariaska's than I've seen, more Swedish 6.5 Mausers than usual, lots of SKS's, significantly more older .22 caliber guns, and one guy who had a great collection of .38 special revolvers. Obviously the rest is about what you would normally see, but just multiply it a couple times. Unless you were looking for something really rare, you might have actually had the chance to find it at this show.
