Mosin Nagant Snipers at Big 5

The Palm Springs Big-5 has a Mosin Nagant Sniper with scope/leather cover and everything.

Looks like it wasn't cosmolined though and it has some surface oxidation on bolt and such.

Pretty much every Big 5 location has a "Sniper" in stock.
They are reproductions.

Retailers like AIM Surplus and J&G have had the real thing for less recently. Big 5 is fine for $119.00 91/30s but for a Sniper, look for private sellers probably these days or keep your eyes open at AIM and J&G and other dealers who sell C&R

AIM, Classic, royal tiger, ATI, and Rguns are the refurbs. Double check though, classic at least has sold repros before I believe.

Why don't you just get the UTG Tri Rail and put a scope on it that way? I just ordered the rail today and will put it together when I pick up my Mosin next week. Requires no gunsmithing.

big 5 sniper

i have one of these big 5 snipers. if you are a serious collector it is not for you. if on the other hand you want a Quality reproduction sniper to take out and shoot that is fine. the importer is PW arms. the scope and mounting are proper russian parts. no cheep pot metal parts. the scope mounting is well done. it came zeroed in without filing or shimming the scope mount unlike other snipers out their. it looks right ,shoots right. i love my big 5 repro sniper. only a few snipers out their R GUN are 100% the real deal. some of the scopes on these REAL snipers are in poor condition, these rifles mostly will sit in a safe and not shot. i have no problem with folks not liking these rifles, but it is not a Quality issue, it is a collector issue. for 200 bucks more i could have maybe found a R gun even though i do not have a C&R lic. if you are retail these big 5 snipers are like new reconditioned rifles with new scopes. i would be worried buying a pawn shop or used sniper someplace else.

They are all refurbs, just different lots imported by different companies. ATI is also a completely different than Rguns and the molot lots.

i thought the r guns were the only rifles with proper matching # on the scope, mount and rifle ? 100 % . others have replaced proper mounts and scopes ?. true or not tyrue.

The refurbishment on the Rguns are the same as the others (Allegedly done earlier, but that really doesn't matter). You'll still find mismatched EPed mounts and lineouts like on the ATI and I.O. (molot lot) guns. Some might have matching mounts with no EP, but so do some of the ATI and I.O. (one of the mount on a gun I got from AIM isn't EPed)

I saw the same at the La Quinta store. They also had a ruger .308 Scout Rifle that I was suprised to see.
