    Want another mauser

Thinking of picking up a M48 or Spanish La Coruna. I tried doing some searching but what is the value of the Spanish that is numbers matching, no import marks and somewhat rough (~75% blue). My k98 needs a friend and am looking for something in the $250 range and can't decide what to get.

I go with the m48 since most of them are BNIB and just been sitting in storage for a while. Cheap and reliable, can't go wrong with a yugo m24/47 either. Those tend to be a bit cheaper as SOG has them going for 189.00 plus shipping.

Just don't buy a Mosin and you can be on the Mauser team and be welcomed with open arms.

I forgot my SOG login; I'll have to call them tomorrow. Can you link the page with the 24/47's?

I called them and asked if they matching numbers, they are not but its not big deal. Most m24/47 are mutts since they were all refurbed. Should make a great shooter and beat some commie mosins.

It won't let me view because I'm not logged in. I'll call them tomorrow. I would want something with matching numbers...I'm just weird that way.

I like yours but the number on the stock is strikethrough. It's still possible though.

ok Stevied put your OCD aside and take interstellar offer. Mausers are almost dried as far as 98k go, even RC's are dried up and more than likely we shall never see them again.

Yugo Mausers are pretty much the only cheap mauser you can get and they will never be as precious or valuable such as the war time 98ks. So I would take any mauser you can get while they are still available.

If I was in the hunt for an m48, I would take interstellar because it is in excellent shape and that's pretty much the norm for BNIB m48's.

Is there really a Mosin VS Mauser "competition" going on here on CGN?

As in "get a Mauser because we rock and aren't stupid and lame like Mosins." and "Commie Mosins whooped those Nazis, so get one!"

Well besides the war the Mosins freaks declared on the Mausers, as a collector or even a shooter I would still get a Mauser while they are still around.

Lets face it, Mosins will be here till then end of days, Mausers as we know right now are on the decline as many of them have been picked up or been put at outrageous prices ie: Classic arms selling refurbed and humped 98ks for 500-700 bucks.

That being said, better to get Mausers even if its yugos now while they are cheap and plentiful. 5-10 years from now that might be the case or Classic arms pulls another BS sale.
