    6.5x55 ammo

Well it seems I have a Ljungman on its way. Where is the cheapest place to get ammo? Best I am finding is ammoman or ammotogo, around $0.70 a round for PRVI.

Also Widener's, about the same -- 70 cents.

Just be aware that Prvi is junk. Inconsistent powder loads, huge velocity dispersion, shots that drop way more than you expect. Save the Prvi brass though. You'll be reloading soon.

Never had problems with Prvi since I started using it in late 2010....

Prvi is the cheapest...at about .70/round anywhere you find it.

Hornady is making 6.5x55 match ammo for about $1.25/rd @ Graf's

Got a good price on that Ljungman, I almost bid on it. I am still looking for a nice M96.

Any objection to disclosing the price?

                Thanks

This is my first Swede rifle. Once in a while I get a wild hair to get something out of my comfort zone. Been looking at either an AG42b or a Suomi but Im having a hard time swallowing the pill of paying $429 + shipping + $60 DROS and then still trying to get modified mags (10 rounds) for the Suomi. Since I plan on moving out of state in 4 years, once my kids leave the house, I may just have a family member get one for me and hold onto it. Then I can get the 72 round drums, just leave everything at his house out of state.
BTW, my bid was max bid was $651 FYI

EDIT, speaking of "out of comfort zone", the 1847 Colt Walker replica I ordered 3 months ago just showed up. Talk about a hand cannon! Way out of my comfort zone!

That is a very good price. You will like shooting it.

I've got two and they are a soft shooting, accurate rifle.

Any chance you'd be interested in some stuff I Have? I live in the high desert as well, Victorville to be exact.

                        here have a look.

Not sure what a fair price to ask, I'm thinking of posting it in the for sale section.

What do you 6.5x55 guys think?

Pretty obvious what the Norma stuff is, but what is the other headstamp? Is that the round-nose stuff in the plastic bin?

This all came from my Dads collection, he said it was for his Swedish rifle 6.5x55.

Going through my garage and cleaning things out.

The round nose ammo is good stuff, powerful and accurate. Even good for big game out to 200 yards.

Considering one can reload quality ammo for $.25 / round, figure it's worth that much, or $5 per 20.

Not really worth more than that as a buyer can't be 100% sure how it's been stored over the years. But the cases don't look tarnished so they're probably in good shape.

If you were closer to Sacramento I'd buy it for that price. But not if I had to pay shipping on top of it.
