    M48b extract/eject problems

I'm having a bit of issue with my M48b. Seems that its hard to extract a spent cartridge and it won't eject them. I have to physically flick the brass out from under the claw, which is quite annoying. I've used Turk, South American, and S&B 196gr SPCE ammo. And yeah, I've cleaned the daylights out of it before hand and used 2 cans of break cleaner and oiled the crap out of it, let it set over night and wiped the excess off. Any help would be appreciated. Oh, the picture below with the brass on the bolt was taken from the rifle without the ejector hitting the brass and doing its proper job.

Pull the bolt all the way back, HARD!

In your second pic, you'll notice the brass is just touching the ejector. It needs some momentum to flick it out...

I'll ask my wife for my manhood back next time I go to the range. Heck maybe I'll do a video, because the manhandling only works some of the time.

Well, they can hang up but usually, that comes from the ejector not engaging on the rim, which in your case, it looks like it's doing.

Have you removed and cleaned the ejector/bolt release assembly yet/ever? Sometimes, it can get gummed up with debris, cosmo, soot, etc.

boiled, break cleaner, and oiled. Took it down as far as it could go (minus that dang claw that I've never been able to get off). Err, reread, yeah I actually took the bolt release apart for the first time on this rifle and cleaned it.

I had this same problem with surplus 8mm turk ammo in my m48. The remington ammo cycled great, the turk ammo I had to brace the stock on my leg and YANK back on the bolt to eject a shell.

In the end I sold the m48, I really wanted a German K98, still do

I have a Yugo 24/47 that requires rough pulling to the rear to eject a spent case... sometimes. I think its a possible side affect of the controlled feed design with Mausers.
