How much did you pay for it and when?

I was just adding another rifle (Izzy 91/30) into my "Acquisition and Disposition" record book and was just looking at some of my other entries. In January of 2007 I bought a Russian M44 through "R-Guns". They usually have an advertisement in Shotgun News. So, 5 years ago it was listed for $69 and $15 for shipping. A whopping $84. Now I am seeing them going for up to $300. What good deals did you find with you C&R license and when and what is your investment topping out at today?

My service grade Wartime (Pre war, actually) SA M1 from CMP was $300.

When I got mine, CMP was still DCM, and you could get one rifle. Ever. Period. For your whole life.

My DCM M1 was $97.50 in 1969. My buddy got a NM one for $160. I also bought a bull-barrel Winchester Model 70, pre-64 .30-'06 match rifle for $225 in 1964. Got a Winchester 52 for $125 about then too. There are other treasures in my vault... :-)

#5 'jungle carbine' for $100....in 1974! My best C&R buy in the last 5 years was the pair of Colt handguns from Calguns: an early 20s New Service in mint condition and a M1903 pocket .38 automatic both for $800. I sold the .38 auto for $800 so the New Service was free!

Picked up my M44 around 2009 for $89. Picked up a Yugo 59/66 for $200 somewhere around 2005. Sold it though.

My son and I started collecting about 2 years ago, so I don't have any $49 deals to talk about. I think we have 49 milsurps now, all the ones in my sig and some newer ones that are out of state, 2 M16 A1 clones, an A2 clone and a Brit L1A1. Best deal? Maybe $650 for the Rasheed.
What's our "investment" topped out at? Something north of $10K. Glad my wife doesn't read this

                        Although I don't have a C&R license, I've never lost money on a C&R rifle.

My best deal (besides a couple of free ones) was a Finnish M28/30 (non-refurb) for $100. It's a $450-$500 rifle easily.

1941 Johnson, obscenely low price, he was going to give it too me originally, had to convince him to take money. Next best was a Danish send back M1 Garand, $300. Finn Mosin a few months back, traded an old safe that I bought nearly twenty years ago for $100.
