Oh snap! This place is local and I didn't know about it?

They don't volunteer that a C&R has been reblued or not - so bear that in mind.

I love this store. I walked in and asked Ted if they had an Israeli Mauser, he took me straight to a beautiful specimen that was reasonably priced. I love this place, if they're slow you can spend hours learning everything about every obscure C&R gun there is. These guys deserve all the support we can give them.

I am sorry, I am new to the forum. I understand C&R, but not the context...can you explain please?

If a gun in their inventory has been stripped clean of its finish, and a new finish (bluing) has been applied, which, in many cases, can ruin the value of the collectibles

As af240z stated. There is an old thread here where I bought a minty K43 there only to find out later that it was reblued. My fault for not taking it apart or asking questions about its finish. I overpaid and my arse still smarts when I think of it.

They cater to folks who know their stuff and it's not a place to go as a total beginner for CnR as if you ask the right questions you'll get the answers. If you don't ask they don't neccessarily volunteer the information. Great place and mike (owner) is top notch..

Eh, the mount on that K43 was one of those 214 marked non-arc'ed - easy to identify fake and they did not admit that it was fake - but they didn't argue that much when I knocked the difference off their asking price. If I had known that the rifle was blued, I probably wouldn't have bought it and I am pretty sure they would not have sold it to me for a further discounted price.

Just don't go in there thinking the best of everything. Or ask for guarantees.

They have great inventory and odds & ends - a 6" barrel Stoeger Luger 9mm, a 30 Cal BHP, 25-20 Marlin Cowboy, Rem 788 & Remington 141 are just a few things I've bought lately. I lean towards older but not "collector" firearms. When I bought the 788 (in 7-08) it was still in the factory box - $129.00 "Big 5" price tag from 30 years ago, got it for $300.00. Not too bad.

Aside from inventory what I like best about the place is that it is organized and low key. They do their paperwork, they know where their paperwork is and no surprises. They'll do 2 rifle DROS's just in case when you do the 10 day pick up something else catches your eye.

Out of state transfers are $60.00 and they fax their FFL with no "did you send it yet?" follow up.

Great place, easy to get to of 92. I turn at 20th by Taco Bell, easier than cutting across at 21st.
