    To this day, I regret...

Not buying one or two of the sporterized C&R 98 Mausers, re-barrelled for 30.06, at the gun show, for $200.00. I had the money in my hands. Walked away to think about it. Went back 1/2 hour later to get one and lo, they were gone!
It doesn't matter how scary, ugly, uncomfortable, or inconvenient self defense can be. Like it or not, you will never, ever be relieved of your duty and responsibility to defend your life, your family, your country and your freedom.

How much ammo do I need? Enough to last me the rest of my life, and then lot more for later.

The government does not come knocking at your door. It comes knocking down your door.

Sounds like you were thinking more like a collector when you walked away from it, then later may have thought you can bring it back to it's original gender. I'm not into cross dressers myself, it's just to kinky.

I regret selling the first rifle I shot a deer with so I could buy a "real" deer rifle with a scope. The first rifle was an all original 30-40 Krag which I paid $45 for(no DROS/tax etc). It cost me $800 to replace it with another that is not as nice as it was. I still have the rifle I bought to replace the first one and have taken many game animals with it.

          I passed on a 1944 Tula M44 for $69.

Passed on an 1895 Tula M91 (although the guy wanted way too much for it, so that one wasn't too hard)

Passed on a 1945 M38 for $150. (I was in Nevada, no C$R). I did wind up scoring a usually expensive bayonet for less than half price with that same cash though, so it wasn't a total loss.

If you collect C&Rs long enough, there are always gonna be a few that get away from you.

I passed up a Winchester Lightning Rifle in .44-40 with a mint bore marked S.F.P.D. for $500, but that was about 20 years ago. The mint 71/84 Mauser was the same price.

I've passed on a ex-sniper Mosin for $90 and a 1917 Remington Nagant that had been butchered for $100

should have got them and sold them for a profit

It gets worse. I also let a nice DDR marked SKS slip away.

I've had bunches of stuff that have slipped through the cracks. One being a $700 Model 1887 in great shape. To add insult to injury, I saw the same one twice, also selling for $700. No money

Sold an Enfield enforcer and No.4 T, both in transit cases when I was unemployed. Should have sold the dog, wife kids instead.

                            Saying goodby to sweet Nona.....

Life is full of regrets. Juat appreciate them as missed opportunities, but pleasant memories.
Actually I only started collecting Milsurps 3 years ago. I think I might own about 24...They're cheaper than guns that will most likely never get the opportunity to kill somebody...

I belong to the group that uses firearms, and knows which bathroom to use.

Tis better to have Trolled & lost, Than to never have Trolled, at all.
