    5 digit Husqvarna Swedish Mauser

Was at a LGS (local gun store) yesterday and saw an odd Swedish Mauser. Receiver ring had the usual markings for a Husky model and was dated 1942. Barrel was a 29" model and had the threaded end. The receiver was numbered 49,95x. The bolt was marked 073 and appeared to be internal correct. Stock and bolt release match the receiver ((95x). Trigger guard was 985.

I have never seen a 5 digit Husqvarna Swedish Mauser. This one appeared to be a military receiver, dated "42" and has the stripper clip slot. All of the Husqvarna Swedes I have seen are 6xx,xxx series. Anyone know the story on this one?

The serial number places it in the batch of 1900 Oberndorf Mauser m/96 rifles. Best guess is it is a replacement receiver. It's not unheard of to see a Husqvarna receiver numbered in amongst Carl Gustaf m/96 series rifles. The "event" that occurred to the original receiver was most likely in the 1950s when there were no more Gustaf replacement receivers available.

Any particular value to these "replacement receiver" M96's?
