Why would people buy this when they could buy HXP for .16 a round less?

So you don't need to use a gas regulator with this ammo?

Are you referring to CMP sales?

CMP isn't selling anymore of the ammo on clips right now and have them listed as sold out. I've been told they still have more, they just want to get rid of the loose HXP first. That's what I've been told anyway, don't know if there's any truth to that.

The CMP ammo is great. It is magnetic though, sorry for you Socal guys. It is also boxer primed and reloadedable and a lot cheaper than the privi.

yep, a fire = closed range. I'd also prefer to keep the ranges open.

I looked on the web page, didn't see that it is non-magnetic so good to know that it is. Yes, .66 per round is the best price I have heard of for non-magnetic, I bought that Hornady that the CMP has and paid .85 a round.

Personally, I recommend SoCal people buy as much HXP as they can afford, drag it out to the desert and blast away, save the quality HXP brass and reload them for your shoots at Angeles, etc. There are a few select places in SoCal that you can shoot magnetic at, but almost all are private clubs and ranges, other than the desert.

I had never heard of this specific M-1 friendly PPU load.

Is it relatively new or what?

I have shot through a whole bag of Prvi 150gr flat base bullets which should be the ones that these rounds are loaded with. While not held to strict production tolerances, they are no less inconsistent than Lake City or HXP bullets. I stuff them in front of about 47gr of whichever 4895 that happens to be on the shelf at the time and they perform just fine. Prvi Brass is pretty good stuff, I like it better than Winchester commercial. If this stuff is in fact loaded with the appropriate speed powder, It should be a good alternative to M2 ball and a good source for reloadable brass.

On the topic of M-1 food, is anyone familiar with
Colombian surplus ammo and where it isafe for M-1s?

                          Headstamp is IM 30 30 over (19)66.

                          Ditto for FN 30-06.

If it's not M-1 safe, I may put it up for sale so that bolt action shooters may enjoy it.

I'm just doing my due diligence currently.

Just got an e-mail from AIM saying that the ammo is now for sale. Get it while it's fresh.

Looks like its worth a shot, I've used about 800rds of Prvi "white box" 7.62x51 in my M1a with no issues what so ever. They make nice brass, its annealed and the primer pockets are a little deeper than Winchester cases.
