In that configuration, nothing to a collector. Maybe a couple hundred to a plinker. It also depends on if it is Russian, Chinese, or Yugoslavian

Bubba'd SKS rifles have virtually no collector value, as they are preferred in their original factory form.

I'd say this rifle as pictured could fetch around $300 +/- depending on whatever kind of optic it has on there. Your target buyer is someone who thinks it looks cool or fun to shoot. SKS enthusiasts won't touch it unless you have all the original parts, especially the stock.

The bad news is that in California that rifle would appear to be illegally configured with the detachable magazine and pistol grip. SKS rifles are required in California to have the standard, fixed 10 round magazine.

As an SKS collector, I think the rifle in the picture is basically ruined. That's just my .02

I have bought a russian and a Roy in last few months . I would not pay more then a couple hundred for that . If iw was in very clean shiny bore and had its wood back $300+

Just my 2 cents worth, I'd pay $0.02.

if you find some call of duty kid who does not know much about rifles you could probably squeeze $450 out of him because it is black and tactical. any other shooter wont pay over 350 for a SKS in that configuration. but it is probably a no go in CA because of the 20 round detachable mag.

              Greetings Bobby,

Do you have any photos of your SKS up on the website anywhere? I can appreciate the collector's perspective. I would call myself a shooter though.
What can I say ? Shooting a pure gun is enjoyable.

              Thanks

Yeah if that rifle is in Cali in that cinfiguration, that's not good. Put the stock magazine back on it and it'll be ok.

Semi auto rifles with a pistol grip and fixed mags cannot hold more than 10 rounds sooo.....the only way this configuration is legal, in California, is if its a fixed 10/20 rounder.

That rifle, in its current configuration and located in the state of California is illegal unless the mag is permanently modified to only hold 10 rounds and is fixed.
Now I only know the rules for Saigas but I am fairly certain an SKS that accepts detachable mags in any configuration also must be 922r compliant.

                          Taaaaddaaa

Hundreds of paracord colors in stock and ready to ship. Lightweight & strong kernmantle rope.

Fixed and still has to bed fed by yummy stripper clips

Mag was 3 parts, I believe the whole tapco kit was 8, and gas piston was 4 all 922r compliant. I sold the plastic because honestly it sucked but it looked cool and it was legal.

                              Bbbbubba.

I'd pay maybe $100 - $150 for that (basically the barreled action), and then restore it to original.

Do you want a mall ninja weapon or something that is built Ford tough and battle ready? It may look cool, but you're better off finding one in original condition. If you want to make an improvement, add a Tech peep sight. You can still find Norinco or Yugo 59/66's for around $300.

I added a bunch of that garbage to my SKS when I first got into shooting, and ended up taking it all off piece by piece because it didn't work as well as it did in stock condition. Any kind of a receiver mounted scope will not hold zero since the bolt is slamming back and forth inside.

The SKS is simple and reliable. Best to leave it that way.
