    C&R "Annex" at Oak Tree

I was shooting at Oak Tree last week and decided to check out their new "annex" building, which I'd heard was going to be dedicated to reloading. Well, it's half reloading, and half a collection of C&R firearms.

I spoke to the fellow manning it and he explained that it's all one man's collection that he's selling off a bit of because he collects on a scale few of us can imagine. Some really amazing stuff - lots of pistols and rifles from Old West revolvers and lever-actions to WWII military. He has some really nice 1903s with scopes. Mostly US but a few foreign weapons, like some Lugers and P-38s and Mauser rifles.

Unfortunately, the prices are HIGH. They may be reasonable for what they are, I don't know not being an expert, but many of the rifles were in the $3-4,000 range. There were some that weren't so pricey, and I was especially intrigued by an Iver-Johnson WWII semi-auto rifle. No idea if the prices are negotiable, but it may be of some interest to you serious collectors (or to other lookieloos like me). It's the building at the far end of the steel pistol range.

I checked it out today too and the prices seemed really high to me as well. Lots of Garand's, 1903's and lever guns.

This is a fine collection of rare weapons, nothing your going to find in most gun stores. Did you notice th '03 with a pedersen device? There are like 3 of those left in the world.

I did notice it, didn't know what the heck it was so the fellow there explained it to me. I had no idea such a thing existed.

Most of it was too rich for my blood - more of a "museum" experience for me. There are a couple of .22 trainers that were interesting, though. I might see if prices are negotiable at all on those.

As usual, the good folks of Calguns teach me something new just about every day, thanks.

If you can afford it (over $100k is what i was told) you probably are not going to keep it at your California house

Actually the last on sold at an auction for around 55,000 and I have heard of several others in the same range on other gun sites. They are extremely rare and valuable. A nice piece of history though, I have only seen one in person from a collection and it is a wonderful work of art on an amazing rifle. Amazing to see what they came up with to improve the guns of that era. A bunch of brilliant men doing amazing work on firearms in that time. Now everything is plastic and molded with machines pushing this stuff out.

Did those come with a crate and a half of original ammo? Thats worth as much, if not more than the device.
