    CMP????????

    OK....

I have nevered ordered from CMP before. This year I sent in an order for the Winchester M1 Carbine and one of the Kimber Model 82 .22LR's. I recieved an email notification on 1/8/2008 stating:

"We have received and verified your recent order. There is nothing that we will be able to tell you about the order until we have input all orders received ahead of yours into the system. Your order will now advance to our sales area and from there to our shipping area. Please note, that unless otherwise listed, our order to ship time is 30 days. You will receive other emails as the order progresses.

I know they have recieved more orders than Carbines available...... But I have seen several people posting that they recieved their order email confirmations after mine and they have already had their Carbine's shipped.

So, this is my question.... Is this normal when ordering from them during these "special" sales? Should I give up that I will get the Winchester? Why would I not have at least heard something about the Kimber Model 82?

I know I am not the only one stressing.... Any one with words of wisdom?

Just sit tight, you will get your rifles. If you can't, email customer service or you can "Ask Orest".

That is the standard Email notification. Don't stress out over it.

I ordered on Dec 4th. They input my order on Dec 15th. I haven't rec'd my M1 Garand yet but I'm waiting.......

Sometimes no news is good news after they tell you they've processed your order, you're just waiting in line...

Keep waiting. Some people have already received their carbines and most are still in queue. Remember they got thousands of orders, randomly sorted them, and are now filling them. Its going to take weeks to get it all done. You missed out on the Inlands. The wait there was months (like the Garands are now).

So was your order rec on 1/7 or 1/8? I believe they are still working their way through the 1/7 mail.

I heard of people waiting a few months before receiving their C&R rifle..and that wasn't a special m1 carbine type of thing.
            Fleeing the PRK on 3/8/09!!

I'm in the same boat, people who received their email after me getting orders processed and shipped. It's just how they opperate where they randomly process orders from the 7th then the 8th and so on. So until they start processing mail that came in on the 8th and you were in on the 7th then you can worry. But I remember orest saying it will take until mid-febuary to fill all of the order received on the 7th so just be paitient. I've sent several thousands of dollars worth of orders to CMP and have never been denied although sometimes it takes a while.
This time around I'm still waiting for my rockola and winny, good luck

The CMP receives thousands of orders and it takes time for them to process and fill them. This past summer, I ordered an M1 Garand and it took about 45 days to receive my rifle. I got the same kind of email message you got. You should get another one that says your order has been processed. When you get that message, it means that it's been entered and your order has been moved over to shipping... at that point, it's about a 10 day wait, including shipping.

The forums at the ODCMP website can be very, very helpful.

I was about to reply that my HRA Garand order was still sitting there since late December, but I just checked and they've hit my credit card and are about to ship. Woo hoo!!!!!!!!!!

As the others have said, be patient. Trust me, I know how hard that is!

You have to be patient when dealing with the CMP. That being said, I got my SA SG in around 45 days back in Oct. Right now I'm currently waiting on a SG Inland carbine, been open since Dec. 18th. I think they aren't finding quite enough SG, only rackers. I've been fighting the urge to call them and switch it to a RG.

Ah, you are in the "cement mixer." If your intial email states that CMP received your order on the 7th, you are still in the running. Good Luck!

Thanks for all the input. This being the first order with them I have really been in the dark with what is going on. Nice to hear all the positive support from you guys!

                            Cheers!
