    ljungman greasing points

I'm shooting with my sons in a semi auto vintage silhouette match on Sunday and would like to use my Ljungmans.

anyone know what the greasing/lubrication points are on the Ljungman?

    How about the FN49?

    Thanks,

None anywhere in the gas system on the FN, and everywhere metal moves against metal on both rifles.
    Poke'm with a stick!

I use oil for shooting and grease for storage. Grease can sometimes slow bolt travel down, thats why I don't use it for shooting.

          Thanks,
I don't recall the lubrication procedure for the AG-42, only that they were fussy if oiled beyond a few drops on the riding surfaces of the bolt carrier. Since it was not my rifle and close to 30 years ago, the details are fading. Fortunately, that's what manuals are for. Attachment below.

You can get much of the information on the basics here: http://www.gotavapen.se/gota/artiklar/ag42/ag42eng.htm

And of course, no owner of an old milsurp rifle should be without a bookmark to the home page here:

As for the SAFN49, light grease on the sides of the carrier, lightly oil the bolt head, drop of oil in the firing pin channel, two drops into the FCG. Clean but leave dry the gas piston and gas tube. Clean off the gas plug once again, no oil here.

          Enjoy.

I used U.S. rifle grease on mine: a dab on the locking shoulder, on the hammer where the bolt rode over top, between the bolt and carrier, on the recoil spring, a dab on the tracks for the bolt carrier.

I greased mine the same way...with Plastilube. It functioned fine.

                Thanks, Richard

I greased it with Plastilube on the locking lugs, bolt and bolt cover rails and the top of the hammer...worked great.

                I appreciate the links

if they're anything like the hakim, doesn't require much and you can pretty much see when you have it apart where it's gonna need lube. not much, a little oil will do. don't believe ljungmanns have adjustable gas valve, that's the real trick. everything else means nothing really.
