Anyone Buying Mosin from AIM Surplus?

So I want to buy a Mosin Nagant from AIM but I don't have 003. If anyone in the Los Angeles area will be ordering soon from AIM can I order with you. Just let me know what you need from me.

    Thanks.

It would probably be easier for you to just watch the CGN classifieds, I see 91/30s for sale all the time on it.

This is borderline illegal, so don't do it.

The problem is that it really looks like a straw purchase. People with C&Rs do sometimes buy a couple of something, keep the best, and sell the excess to any interested friends or list them on the forums for sale, but if they're just buying stuff and immediately flipping them out it does look kind of bad.

yeah looks bad but as long as you dot the I's and cross the T's in your A&D book then your good to go. Sides ATF doesn't care about that in all honesty, its CA DOJ I would worry about.

If they knock on your door, just show them your A*D book, your C&R and they really have nothing on you.

ATF doesn't need a warrant (correct me if I am wrong) but they do have to notify you before they come over and inspect if my memory is correct.

As for the Gestapo, O I mean CA DOJ yes they need a Warrant.

They cannot enter your home without your consent or a warrant. If they want to inspect your A&D book, you have the option of going to their office or them coming to your home.

I ordered 4 or 5 Mosins from J&G a year or so ago and ended up immediately selling 2 of them to a friend. I had planned to select the best 2 or 3 and get rid of the rest, and when I sold them I didn't make a single penny on the deal. I don't see how that could be considered illegal, but I do see a problem if one of my friends came to me and said "Hey, order me this rifle with your C&R."

While I've never asked the ATF on the matter myself, I have read at other forums that the ATF has responded in writing to allow for so called "group buys" if the intent is to pick the best of the batch and make no profit off the rest. I don't think ATF has any means to actually check if there was any profit made though, they can only guess if you're trying to engage in business by the traffic logged in the bound book.

If the ATF wants to check my BB, well, I'll have to accept that possibility, since that's what I signed up for when I got my 03 c&r.

Note that my comment was directed at DOJ. I had deleted ATF from your quote. CADOJ has no right to see your A&D book.

Ahhh yes yes. The CADOJ has no business wit the A&D since that is to comply with Federal Law. Only thing that matters is the COE and that the C&R rifles is 50 years older and approved by CADOJ. That should be all correct?

                        Thanks.

                        You have a few choices:

                        1 Calguns (As prev mentioned)

2 BIG 5 (You'll end paying around $140 otd) and waiting 10 days

                        OR
While you trying to figure out what to do - apply for your C&R lic and wait until you get it then buy from whomever.
