Recommend me a good Mauser 'smith?

Thinking of having a old worn out mauser 1933 std. Modell rebarreled.

    Any referrals?

KENDOG4570.....Ken Breda @831-334-2386. He just recently installed a new barrel on my M1 Garand. He is in Aptos. Just south of Santa Cruz. Fast turn around. Can't go wrong with him.

durandal, are you going to re-barrel with a take off barrel, or something new? Either way I can probably hook you up, let me know.

Yep, its true. And he is also licensed. He goes by the book. He would have to much to lose if he didn't.

I don't know him personally, but I remember his screenname because he is so knowledgeable and all that.

I hope business is well for him.

Had Ken Bred (KENDOG4570!!!) install an old aperture sight on my Mauser a while back. I found the rear sight at the Chabot silhouette match last year in somewhat rough condition, but the price was right so I snagged it along with some reloading equipment.

Ken cleaned the sight up up, mounted it (worked his magic ) and zeroed it. First shot, on chickens at 200 meters, dead center of the steel. I went on to clear chickens and pigs with it. I've found any rifle he works on gets me better scores...

So, did you get all 5's in a roe? Were you standing or bench? Iron sight or scope?

Iron sights; 1/4 MOA adjustment rear aperture. Sac valley prone silhouette match.

I have shot it in the Chabot (offhand) silhouette match as well, only one time though, where I got into a shoot off for first in irons. Lost the shoot off, but still had fun. I kept getting on the second stage too soon and breaking the shots 3" over the pigs backs.
