    CZ 52 Recoil Spring

I own 3 of these guns. I have never been bothered by trigger slap, maybe I hold it differently than my son but he doesn't like the CZ52 because of it. I got on the Wolf gun spring web site and found the solution to be changing the recoil spring. The gun comes with a 14 and a half pound spring, Wolf sells 14.5, 16.5 and 18.5 pound springs, I ordered the 18.5 pound springs. I got them today and changed the spring in one of the guns. It is a lot harder to rack the slide. Other than trigger slap, is there any other difference I should notice?

To be frank, I have not fired my CZ enough to be of any help. I was unaware until mentioned that trigger slap could be an issue. I am well acquainted with WWI and II era 1911's and P35 hammer bite but never had trigger slap in my life.

In theory a stiffer spring would mean the spring takes more energy to move so perhaps lighter recoil? I am certain that 7.62x25 would have no problem fully cycling under a 30# spring

I don't know if the 18.5 lb recoil spring would make a difference to me. My hands are arthritic so even with the std spring and the hammer cocked, racking the CZ52 is not as easy as when I was younger. It may be my hold, but I experience trigger slap on mine. A range friend glued leather onto the trigger of his CZ52 because of the slap. The Tokarev TTC is more comfortable (to me) to shoot.

I had a chance to go to the range and try out the cz53 with the new 18.5 lb recoil spring.
It rand the same to me, my son tried it, no more trigger slap, but now he notices the safety lever in his way....I think he just doesn't like those guns, lol.

The CZ52 is most certainly not for everyone. The more I shoot mine the more accurate I get with it and the more I like it.
