    H&R 1838 Top Break Revolver

Looking for a value on a Harrison & Richardson top break revolver dated 1838 & good condition, minor rust.

    Thanks for the help!

You sure of that date because neither metalic cartridges, revolvers or H&R existed in 1838.

        I would guess that "3" is a worn or weakly-stamped "8"!

Not to hi-jack but I've had this old pair for longer then I can recall. Only date is 1887
Top is a Forehand 38 of some sort. Bottom is a US Revolver its finish is 90 % or better its marked 32 S&W.

Depends on quite a few things - exspecially model
most are about 100 -150 depending on condition
They made small and large frames in 32 S&W and 38S&W
if a large frame they are quite a bit bigger than the US/S&W/F&W/Iver Johnsons
models made before 1900 do not have caliber markings on barrel and are BP only
I have a large frame 32 auto ejecting 6 shot that I am restoring for a project

Nqw Goex, why would a thing like that make you laugh? Don't you know that "factory errors" make priceless "one of a kind" collectors' items?
