    K-31 at 100 yds

I'm 65 and no Davy Crockett but I do think the K-31 is my most accurate mil-surp. The target is firing from a rest, open sights at 100 yds.

I've only shot a k31 once, but they sure are nice. I'm surprised they aren't more common. I would think it is because of the price of ammo, but the ammo is cheaper than .303 and Enfields are very popular.

That's not a bad target especially for your age, but I'll tell you a secret. You'd have to be able to adjust your front sight, but something my Dad does (only with targets) is to use one corner of the front sight blade as center instead of the whole blade width. Dad is 70 and his eyesight is definitely not capable of the amazing targets he shot when he was young. He stumbled on this method with the k31 from shooting the zfk55 and doing the same thing with the scope. He uses just one corner of that sight puctire and he's amazingly accurate with it.

Ha Ha. That's a great idea Latigo. I must try it. At 100yds, that 8" black bull is just about the width of the front sight blade.

Mine hasn't been performing lately, even after twidiling with the action screws. And I know it's not necessarily me because my CZ-452 groups at 100 keep getting better...

this was at prone. First three shots were to the left, taped the front sight a few times and found the mark. This was using PRVI stuff.

              I thought you sold yours?

****, my 98k was shooting more consistently than my Swiss on Wednesday. While thats good for the Mauser, I don't want to lose the Swiss Flu magic.

Yeah I sold it. Saved the groupings though. I wont doubt its the best mil-surplus rifle in control conditions. However my Czech Mauser says different

Come to think of it... It's ALWAYS my ammo he is shooting... and I never even get an honorable mention... man... where has the love gone?

I also shot that day, my K31, but had nothing but problems with it. That's when he and I were trying to get them sighted so we could shoot the match in Carmel.

Tried and tried and tried and just could not get it to sight in no matter what we did. He shot it - same result. I shot his - and knocked the heck out of the center of the target. So it's the rifle I have, not the shooters. Something wacky with it.

So I bought his instead. Easier than having another melt down and throwing things all over the shop and breaking all sorts of expensive parts

You'll have that sometimes ya know... According to SKSer I seem to have a bit of a temper
Yes since your a hoarder that is your medicine is to get no love Trust me folks I could shoot a 1,000 rounds of Bltiz of ammo and not even make a drop in the bucket to his pyramids of ammo. hahahah!!!!!!!

But yes funny how my k31 out shot his k31 for what ever freak reasons. Then I sold him mine and it shoots just great. I guess there is a bad apple even with such delicate and wonderfully crafted rifle.

As yes Blitz you need anger management.
