German Marked SKS?

Has anyone here ever encountered a German marked SKS or German made SKS before? Been thinking of getting a German marked to go with my Volkspolizei Luger and am trying to gather information on them.

East Germany used Soviet SKSs, as well as produced their own Karabiner-S.

The East German marked Soviet SKS will be much easier and cheaper to find than a Karabiner-S.

ahhhh the mythical Easter (bunny) German SKS. It is considered to be one of the three Unicorns of the SKS world, along with the N.Korean SKS and NVA type SKS.

So the East German built the SKS that looks like this.




Has the same 98k Sling cut in the in the stock. Very few of these were imported if at all. I had one guy said maybe 100 were imported.

As for the other marked, those are Russian SKS but are considered DDR SKS since they were used in East German mainly as 2nd line rifles and honor Guards.

An SKS collection is never complete. I am holding at 5 (2 Russians, a Yugo, and 2 Chicoms) and I am always on the look out for more.

I'm at 37 and trying not to buy any more.....Now if a East German came up I would probably buy it.
