C&R license stuff

I just got my c&R application and there are two copies of it and I am wondering if I have to fill out both. One is ATF form, the other is CLEO (what is that?)

I am sure I have to do both, but then where does each one go? It seems rather vague.

Yes, you need to fill out both. One goes to the ATF and the other goes to your local Chief of Police(aka CLEO) To determine which CLEO you need to send to, you send to the chief of the department that would respond if you called 911.

True, call the main local PD number and ask if they service your area if you are not sure. I'm not sure the 911 operator would know what they heck you were asking, but you'd probably get cops at your house and a bill a while later. You'd have your answer though...

CLEO = Chief Law Enforcement Officer.

Just drop it off at the front desk. If they respond, it means thay have a bona fide objection to you holding a license. That doesn't mean just because they don't like you. It has to be something like a restraining order or local violations.

If they don't respond, you're home free.
