Carlos Diopter on the Swiss Rifles Message Board is seeking interest on a 2012 Swiss Rifle "Postal Shoot". I've never done one but those that I know that have said it's really fun. Thought I'd post the link for anyone on CGs that has a Swiss rifle and may be interested.

Swiss Postal Shoot

I'd enjoy going postal..."If we make enough laws, we can all be criminals."

Don't forget, when you turn in your targets we can tell if they're all #2 pencil holes.

I'm entering too but if I place I won't be claiming one of the prizes. It will go to the next shooter behind me. Of course, I could be at the bottom anyway.

Update:
Carlos has the 2012 Postal Shoot listed on the Swiss Rifle Forum. For those that want to shoot the Postal Match go to the forum, enroll and contact him. If you have difficulty activating your enrollment just contact the Mods or the help link, they'll fix it for you quickly. We need just a few more entries and Latigo & Co. will, I'm sure, be sending dozens and dozens of prizes for the competition

It is called a postal match because you shoot the match, according to the published rules on your own at your own range and mail your target(s) in.Originally posted by BlitzburghA couple of questions:
Can you shoot any old rifle in a Postal match or is it only Swiss?
Where is the match going to be held?
Why the term "Postal"?
I've Googled around and tried to figure out some of these things but everything seems to be in German or Swiss-German.
I'm not a member over at the Swiss boards - can I join the shoot without becoming a member on another board?
Sorry to be a pain, but as usual - I'm confused.

Yes, it must be a Swiss Rifle, yes, you must be a member, and no, a google probably won't help with this one. Why not go right to the source for all of this info? http://theswissriflesdotcommessageboard.yuku.com/

And a note that will soon be appearing in the rules, all shooters must have a reangemaster sign off on their final targets. I can supply a PDF file of the correct targets for practice.
Should be a fun one this year.
