    A question about Form 7CR

Okay so I am filling out the form to Apply for a Curio and Relics 03 FFL and I have a question. On section 9 it asks you to provide your full name, SSN and so on. For the field that states "Residence Telephone Number" can I put my cell phone number?

We have a house phone but we only use it for the alarm system so we have no phones plugged into it. My cell phone number is my primary number.

Just wanted to ask since I don't know if it has to be related to the address I stated.

Thanks in advance. I was searching everywhere and can't find the answer.

Yes, you may. It's the phone number where they can get in contact with you should they have a question; or wish to schedule a compliance audit.

I gave them my land line number that we never answer so that they would get tired of trying to contact me to schedule a compliance audit and move on to the next guy.

Why would there be a compliance audit?

It's random. They are allowed by law to do a compliance audit with you once per year. It's extremely rare with C&R FFLs though.

Well what I should have asked was what is a compliance audit? Sorry for the dumb question.

They compare you C&R collection with your record keeping in your "bound book."

It's very rare. There have been several stories where they have sent a noobe out; who thinks they're auditing a business and the requirements are different. That's when you ask the noobe to call their supervisor.

If it were to happen, they will contact to schedule -- and it can be at your place or theirs at your choice.

Ah I see. Thanks for clarifying that.
