Yeah no problem. Im in bed already but ill dig through the rounds tomorrow after class. So far i have only found 2 KK rounds in one of the cans. Ill see what headstamps the other can turns up. Thats pretty cool about the TW headstamp.

I forgot to mention, almost all of the rounds are good to go with no cracks or bad dents. There were only two rounds that are not shootable due to having dents. The dents were large enough at the shoulders to cause the the rest of the round to be tweaked at an angle. It probably got smashed somehow.

Forgot to take a picture of that headstamp but here it is. I dont know if its korean writing anymore cause it just looks really weird. I also just cracked open my second can and wrote down all the headstamps. I only had a handful of KA 72 that were magnetic in this can as opposed to the other can.

      KA 61
      KA 62
      KA 66
      KA 67
      KA 70
      KA 71
      KA 72 Magnetic, non Magnetic
      SL 54 Magnetic
      LC 69 Magnetic
      LC 76 Magnetic
      WCC 57 Magnetic

I am an ammo neophyte but why would anyone buy this instead of HXP?

cause i cant shoot hxp at my local range. 95% of the korean ammo i have is non magnetic and thats all they allow. I dont feel like dropping $23/20 rds of commercial garand safe ammo.

            Simple solution. RELOAD!
Sounds like "move to a free state". Reloading is easier than that, but completely pointless in this thread..........as are most of the moving posts.

The CMP does sell the Hornady match for the M1 for .85 per round, but I guess this Korean ammo is cheaper than that?

                  Gotcha.

Another alternative is to buy HXP and your own non magnetic bullets. Use a bullet puller, yank the ball rounds and seat your own non-magnetic bullets. But that is labor intensive.

This is going to sound insane but here it is nonetheless:

Sportsmans Guide has... Iranian surplus Garand ammo for sale. Yes, Iranian. Dates back to the Shah. Headstamp is in Farsi so no idea what it says. Non-magnetic. Reasonably clean. Doesn't look to be de-linked MG ammo. Shoots clean. About .60/rnd in bulk. I originally wouldn't touch it but that returned Korean ammo had to be replaced with something non-magnetic (and not all screwed up). No rejects out of the first 200 rd box I opened up.

I ran about 40 rnds last week and it worked great. Was just checking cycling though so I haven't sat down and worked out its accuracy.

isnt the Iranian stuff corrosive, I thought I saw reports of it being corrosive primed

I'm really glad I still have almost 1000 rnds of Greek...

It's a shame that stuff is gone.

Nope. Its advertised as non-corrosive and I can confirm same. I deliberately let the rifle sit for a couple of days and looked it over a few times while it was. No issues.

I originally saw it and said... "Iran yeah right no effing way." but over time (its been on the market for months) reviews have piled up. Initial reviews pointed to poor condition, but they've been very positive for some time. I'm going to start stockpiling if I can confirm its reasonably accurate.

Samco has the same ammo, a little cheaper, and as a bonus you don't give the anti-California chuckleheads at SG any business:

I have 500 rds of that stuff on enblocs. When I run out of my korean ammo, I'm going to go ahead and just pull the magnetic bullets like you said.

How much is shipping though? I tried checking but they dont calculate it until after your credit card info has been punched in at checkout.

The Iranian ammo says "Berdan primed" though. Doesn't that mean that it is not reloadable?
