Yes, as time allows. Addicted to the Vintage Miltary Sillhouette match, but love the long-range stuff too. Working myself up for the 1,000-yard match Saturday... I even like pit duty; how sick am I?

Those look sweet. I was tell a friend that I was thinking about getting the .308 Garand and he gave me attitude about it. You confirmed it for me, i've got to sell a couple of safe queens and make my move.

Get a CMP Garand while they are still around. Orest, the head of the CMP has posted that at current run rates, there will be no more M1 Garands from the CMP within 12-18 months, possibly sooner if panic buying continues after the election. Once they are gone, the M1 market is going to get crazy because there will be no more "authority" on what M1s are worth. There are plenty of M1s out there but look what you see at gun shows, beater field grades that they want $1,000.00 for. That is the future.

My M1 would like to meet your .308s. Mine is a .30-06, but that's okay, she likes to play nice with other M1s and looks remarkably like yours.

Nothing wrong with a Garand in 308, I have a Garand with a new USGI 7.62 NATO barrel. I also put a CMP Scount mount on it, replacing the lower handguard. Just do it, you can always get one in 30-06 also.....and you should!

Not only "panic" buying but the "speculators" as well. Who have been buying low grade Garands and trying to sell at the higher grade prices to people not too familiar with Garands ever since CMP raised the annual limits on Garand purchases. Hope I can get a couple more before they are all gone.
