But don't you still have to DROS each single handgun (one handgun per DROS)? I don't want to be a buzzkill here I just want people to know what they are getting themselves into once they win a handgun in a auction.

You have to pay for the amount you bid.

Plus 10% to the auction house

      Plus CA state tax

Plus the DROS & 01FFL transfer fee

If you don't all ready have an HSC be prepared to pay for that as well.

Let's say you win a bid for a $100 that can easily go up to $145-$170 OTD.

I am not pulling this out of my behind. I am telling you this from experience.

Separately? Can we aggregate those co-sign handguns like we can put 5 rifles on the same DROS paper?

        This is my calc:

15% auction fee + 8.25% sales tax + shipping fee (NorCA) + $65 Xfer for one handgun (cheapest in Bay Area)

If we have to do one handgun per DROS that will be a lot of extra cost.

Handguns are always one per DROS unfortunately.

I guess you have to look at it in regards to what your intent is. If a pistol fills a hole in your collection then the cost may be worth it if the original auction hammer cost is in your price range.

We have been having these auctions for about three years now and with the number of firearms in this auction will go over 3,000 firearms auctioned . We have MANY guys who each auction buy multiple handguns. For them it's a matter of finding those pieces which they might not ever find again. I think the most handguns bought by one fellow was 15 at a single auction.

At any auction you should always be aware of the total cost involved. Be smart and follow a budget. I think those of you who attend the auction or bid on line will find the total costs will in fact be lower than if you bought from a retail establishment or used an online auction.

For every one who can make it in person to the auction you will save 5 % as the buyers premium is only 10 % when you attend the live auction and you will have a good time. It's a mini gun show with no admission charge!

This is strictly an on-line auction, correct? How does this work, like ebay or gunbroker?

Nope, you can to go to the auction house and bid there, or bid on-line. If you go in person, the auction fee is 10%. On-line the fee is 15%, so go in person if possible.

Do you want an AOW or C&R SBS/SBR in CA?

There will be a live auction on March 15th at 4:00Pm. You can bid now via Proxybid, or during the live auction you can also bid using your computer on the proxybid web site.

I suggest you go to the proxybid web site and review there instructions, as they can explain it more fully than I can.

                  regards SVT

Well I just got done shipping the last rifle sold in the March 15th auction. ..

Ore next auction is scheduled for May 10th at the same location. It will also be up on proxybid in the next two weeks.

We will have the last of Travis's fathers collection in this May auction. I counted today and we already have 275 firearms consigned for the May auction. Around 100 C & R firearms will be available in this auction.

Please feel free to ask any questions you have.

This thread is pretty old, I'm pretty sure most if not all of them sold at auction a while back.
