How can you tell if a K98 Mauser is a Russian Capture? Thanks

I'm not a expert but look for a "X" stamp on the receiver, the bolt will have a electro penciled serial number, the stock serial numbered and the sight hood, cleaning rod & locking screws will be removed.
The cleaning rod, locking screws and sight hood can be replaced. I believe earlier K98s did not have a sight hood. -
Rem222 pretty much covered it. The absolute very least they received was the X stamp.
The typical RC has all the German markings "pinged' or center punched out, bead blast finish, shellac finished stock, mismatched serial numbers, electro penciled force match, left side buttstock serial number stamp to match receiver serial, sight hood, cleaning rod, and capture screws removed.Comment

They are going up in price because they're all that's left...but even they're pretty much gone. I have a really nice one for sale if you or anyone else is interested. Its the one I had at the shoot.!!WANT TO BUY and looking for shooter/beater/reenacting grade German Waffen proofed handguns from the WWII era.
