    Egyptian Rasheed

Was snooping on empirearms.com and saw this. Haven't seen these pop up in a while.

Not many of these around. I wish I had bought one when they first came in, but bought a new (well, new to me) Norinco SKS instead.
Turns out Saddam made a few of these as well.

give that Norinco a few more years and you will be happy you did

Yeah I remember in one of our Weapons briefing there was a few captured Rasheeds on Display. I dunno...didn't look that great coming from Uncle Saddams factory.

Paulie Lugnuts has one of the Rasheeds. The Bolt locked shut at the range day we had last month for some reason. Never heard if he figured out the issue.

Bolt actually stuck on my VZ52. I later determined it was a problem with the surplus ammo I was using, some of the cases were bulging. I brought the Rasheed, but didn't fire it. My understanding is about 8000 were built. I bought ours off of GunBrokers. Its kind of a cross between a SKS and a Hakim. Here's a pic with its Egyptian roommates.

Ah, that's right, my mistake. I'm far too young for my memory to be escaping me like this.

I had one and the only thing going for it vice an SKS was the novelty factor. I traded it for a #2mk4 Lee Enfield and felt I got the better of the deal. With any of these limited production foreign surplus arms if something breaks you may end up with an expensive club because repair parts are next to impossible to find.

Rasheed is a fine weapon. only reason I do not own one is because I got rid of my 7.62x39 caliber and, actually, every rifle caliber except 6.5x55swede and 7.62x54R and as such I unloaded all the calibers except above mentioned two and never got to own a Rasheed. if one wants to build up a value, get Ljungman, Hakim and Rasheed - you got a beautiful treo build on a fine swedish machinery.
                    looking for 6.5x55swede rifles:
                    M94 - matching, complete& without barrel extension. Years: 1895 & 1898.
                    M95 (kammarkarbin) - matching & complete carbine

                    FSR89
                    M/96 -
                    matching ideally. Years: 1895 & 1898.
