I ordered some 7.62x54r on Copes Distributing

They had a sale going on where it was free shipping. So I ordered (2) of 440 rd cans. Oh man, I feel guilty, my wife is gonna kills me. What is that saying where you do it and then you ask for forgiveness later? LOL

It's easier to ask for forgiveness than permission.

Currency and ammo are both assets.

            Your total assets are unchanged.

In truth, the US dollar is losing purchasing power, and the price is ammo is rising faster than the overall rate of inflation.

Your actions were financially sound. In fact, you should buy more.

Same logic holds with Firearms. As far as low-risk, long term investments go, firearms are a safe bet. Every firearm I bought in the 1990s/early 2000s is now worth approx. double what I paid for it, including my Mosins.

Just ordered two cans from SGAmmo. Let's compare when you receive yours and I receive mine. It looks as if there are lot of different Russian/Bulgarian/etc. types of this ammo out there, it would be interesting to know which variant is the best value.

                            According to SG Ammo,

"880 rds 7.62x54R Russian military surplus ammo 1976 or 1977 production from factory 188 in Wood Crate. Small possibility of a different year or factory number, as this is surplus, but it all appears to be 188 - 1976 or 1977, we have sold large quantities of this ammo many times before and it is extremely nice ammo manufactured to perfection

Russian LPS type 148 grain FMJ light ball steel core, bi-metal cased ammo packed in 2 hermetically sealed cans in a wood crate

This is the surplus ammo regarded by most Mosin Nagant and PSL enthusiasts as the "finest" made"
