Never even heard of these before I saw this video. After Eugene Stoner made the Stoner 63 for Cadillac Gage, he moved on to a company called ARES Inc. where he began work on a new weapons system dubbed the Future Assault Rifle Concept (FARC). It only got far enough along to build three prototypes before the Vietnam War ended and funding was cut. It did not have iron sights and was designed to use an optic that used some kind of radioactive material to project a crosshair on the lens. It was called the Precision Reflex Sight. People in the comments say that it was probably made by Precision Reflex, Inc. (PRI) that is still around making carbon fiber AR handguards as they are based in the same city engraved on the sight and were formed in that general timeframe.

Interesting Eugene Stoner Prototypes
Loyalty to country, ALWAYS. Loyalty to government, WHEN IT DESERVES IT. - Mark Twain

I’ve always felt Stoner shot his usable wad on the AR15. Most of the stuff he designed afterwards seemed to be built around stamped receivers geared to addressing too much at once. Couple that with poor manufacturing and fitting (no fault of his) and you get all the failures which proceeded the AR15. Nothing acceptable for military use.Comment
