    Just ordered my first C&R!

I finally got to break in my new C&R license by ordering this nice looking M39:

"Unissued, 100% blue, mirror sharp bore, matching bolt & floor plate, war time stock in new condition with some nice striping."

Nice! How much did you have to pay for it?

With the deal he's running, a bit over $400 shipped. It was more than I wanted to spend, but it unissued(apparently) so I understand it costing more. This one has the nice stripped stock like I like, though

Try J&G Sales for C&R weapons. I have bought 6 from them and all nice. Most likely still running Mossin 91/30's for $69+shipping .

I've looked at these before, and you've got a nice one! At that price, I would probably keep it to show off and not shoot it much.

I'm still waiting on my C&R, and have my eye on several rifles to get. So far the M39 is down the list.

I don't really shoot my C&R rifles all that much anyway, so I certainly won't be putting too much wear on this one either. As such, I like having nicer looking ones even if I have to pay a bit more for them.

From everything I've heard, the M39s are some of the nicest shooting Mosins out there. If I find that I like using this one a lot, I can pick up one of the less expensive ones as a shooter.

              Wow, what a beauty!

Just looked at his webpage, does WGA/BurnsBros/Bill have his FFL again? He was just selling antiques for the longest time after his trouble with the BATFE. Does he have his FFL again, or is he using another FFL near him to ship C&Rs?

Didn't mean to waylay the thread Savasyn, back to the rifle- That's a real nice choice, I've been wanting a stock with flame and figure like that in it, that's a '43 Sako, no?!

I can't answer that. I don't know anything about the guy running the site.

I just missed an even prettier one last week. It had more worn bluing, but the stock had even sweeter striping(not to mention a good bit cheaper). I heemed and hawed for about 4 hours before finally deciding to get it that day. When I finally went back to buy it, it was listed as sold. Doh!!

Yeah, the one I got is a '43 Sako. I only heemed and hawed for about 20 minutes on this one. I believe he just put it up for sale today. Keep an eye on his page cuz with my luck, another super amazing one will show up tomorrow

Nice purchase! The M39s are sweet. I picked up a 99% VKT from them (antique no FFL required) before I got my C&R and picked up a more beater quality Sako for blasting away. The M39 is a lot heavier than the 91/30 (IMO) but it is a great shooter.

BTW, Pat Burns is listed as the seller. Anyhow if you do a transaction, you'll notice the "guy running the site" isn't a guy.

You are indeed correct, Pat turns out to be short for Patricia. As a bonus, she sent me a copy of her driver's license for my bound book. That was very cool. I would certainly buy from these guys again.

As a side note, the M39 is a LONG rifle! I was too tall to fit in the safe I wanted to put it in and just barely fits in my other one, and I mean with less than a mm of space. Other than that, it looks and feels great. Now I need to find a time to go out and shoot it!

Sweet! I had planned on getting my COE as well, but have put it off as I'm so deep in the financial hole from the last few months of buying. The last thing I need is another excuse to go buy more stuff.

I'd so love to not have to worry about that 30 days between handgun garbage, though!

Someone got in front of me right when I wanted to purchase a 91/30 from Pat, otherwise I would've had one from them as well...

Wow... Go for broke or go home huh?! Quite a "first acquisition" for C&R, but you made out like a bandit... M39 is pretty high on my list as well. Pat is a one-woman operation I believe and always has great specimens for sale.

                            Enjoy your M39!

                              Thanks!
I hear ya about having something bought right out from under you. The first M39 I was looking at disappeared right before I went to buy. Oh well, I've very happy with the one I did get, even though it cost a good bit more.
