1907 Colt 38-40 SAA Diamond Bar

I found this old SAA in Georgia about 25 years ago. I figured at the time that the carving on the gutta percha grip bottom may be a cattle brand but I had no way tho check . Recently I came across the DIAMOND BAR ranch and it appears to me the gun was surely there. It was sold to a St. [ILouis hardware store in 1907.
Are there any sources that could assist in this id process?

    Thanks

    Roger
