So NONE of your Danish, British, Korean, Italian, etc. Garands have any markings put on them by those foreign countries themeselves?

Mine do. They aren't marks by importers - they are foreign marks from other countries' additions which they used for various reasons, that then indicate they were lend-lease guns to those countries, reclaimed and imported back into the United States. No, the CMP itself does not add import marks, never said they did.

If some level of government had that information, what would they do with it? How would having that info benefit public safety? How would it benefit law enforcement?

      Exactly.

Wrong. Import marks are put on by importers, by definition. Armorers marks are not import marks.

Always looking for vintage Winchester and Marlin lever action rifles. Looking to sell? Know of one for sale? Drop me a line!

Importers' marks if you are going to get even more specific about it. Foreign based cartouches and roll marks are not always added by the armorer. Add to that proof marks, drawing numbers, heat-lot numbers, rack numbers, other marks, and so on. All of that can be found in any number of books, from Canfield, Duff, Poyer, etc.

          All in my library.

But that still speaks to my original point about what the CMP said were the source of these latest guns available. They say on the website they come from US warehouse storage. What storage that is has not been disclosed. I suggested what that may be which makes more sense than lend-lease guns.

Until they do, it's just talking in circles.
