    Svt-40 problem

Took my svt-40 to range. I have a 1.5 gas setting and reproduction mag. I notice when the mag has more than 6 bullets the rifle will still cycle but wont pick up he next bullet. I have to treat it like a bolt action at that point. 6 or less its no problem. Is it a spring tension problem in the mag or from the bolt?

Common with repro mags. That's why everyone says pay the $ and get a real one.

What if I retrofit the spring in the repro mag? Or the spring from the bolt?

There's a reason why this guy sells the springs http://www.ppsh41.com/SVTitems.html

Bolt spring isn't the problem in this case, IMO. It might be the spring in the repro mag, it might be slightly out of spec mag too. They're just not known for reliable feeding, especially for feeding all 10. As to a remedy, I don't have one.

The first ones produced weren't too bad, the ones now are. Must have worn out the stamp die.
Mine didn't come with a mag, but I would like to have an original that works, to compare with the repro, to see if there's a fix.
