uberti john wayne 1873?

I have a old harley im trying to get rid of and a guy just offered me a john wayne 1873 45lc. Are these guns worth anything he said he paided 2500 but i seen one on gun broker for 1500 why the price drop? I dont really know anything about these fance collecter guns any help is great thanks.

Not really familiar with that particular model, but a few general comments:

1) Guns, ESPECIALLY commemorative and "collector's" models, are worth what you can actually GET for them. Asking prices on Gunbroker mean just about nothing. You need to find examples where the gun actually sold to somebody.

2) The market for commemorative models is artificial and limited to a very few people who actually collect that model. NOT a good investment in my experience. Beyond those few people, the gun is worth what a good Colt clone is worth as a shooter, maybe $5-600 if it is in great condition. Inscriptions and engraving don't make it shoot better.

3) This gun is almost certainly NOT C&R, although that doesn't really affect its value in CA like it might in the free world.

If you love the gun and the Harley isn't worth much of anything and is hard to sell, maybe it's the deal for you. If not, I'd pass. Just my two cents; worth all of that.

I would be surprized if that rifle was worth more than a regular Uberti 1873 about $700

what are the specs on the harley?

Uberti anything won't hold value long term, the brand name just doesent cary the cache of Colt.
