Need help identifying my SKS

I bought an SKS from the gun-show about a month ago and I can't find a year on it nor the make. It has all matching parts and i'm extremely pleased with its performance. I know that it is Russian but it has no distinct marking that I am familiar with, such as the Tula arsenal.

I will post pictures soon but on the box it says R1 939 Rifle S/A SKS Russian.

Most refurb Russians wont have a date on them.Its been scrubbed from the receiver cover .

A side star is a late 1955 1956 Tula.
Got a couple of them...

there are a few tiny markings, like a small triangle on the receiver with a t in the middle. Other then that a few small letters inside of a circle near the barrel.

Bring it out to Chabot gun club the first sunday of each month to shoot the 200 meter sihlouette rifle match

I usually go to the Richmond Rod & Gun Club, The Chabot Gun Club only allows 2 rounds in the SKS at a time.

That is a 1955/56 Tula SKS. Hard to tell from your pics if it a refurbished rifle...most likely it is. Go to sksboards.com for all the information you could possible want/need.

The 2 rounds is for the public range. The man was talking about a 200 yard "MATCH". You would have alot of fun with that out there. Be sure you check the rules on this match though. SOME OF THE RULES:
Rifles can not weigh more than 10 Lbs 2 Oz.

Rifles must be chambered for 6mm or larger (.223 not acceptable).

Belted magnum calibers are not allowed.

No bullets that attract a magnet (steel clad, steel jacketed, steel core or armor piecing) or tracer rounds permitted

Shooting is done offhand standing without shooting coats, palmrests or slings.

Hearing protection and eye protection is required at all times while on the range. http://www.chabotgunclub.com/
