Use for Romanian Grenade pouch bandoliers - ?

I see these cheap Romanian surplus grenade pouch bandoliers - and I wonder if anyone can see a use for them. At first, I thought I could use SKS 10 round stripper cilps in them - but that was before I saw how small the pouch was. I guess they were for something like a 40mm grenade.

Trying to find where I stored my 10 round 7.62x39 stripper clips.......don't really want to go rooting around my stacks of ammo.

I have 7 Chinese SKS pouches - had 5 SKS's at one time.

I thought I could use those Romanians as suspenders for some pistol belts I have, but the ones I got - the leather is old and stiff - and the slits in the leather and the metal studs will need a lot of work to make them unusable. Maybe useful for five round stripper clips for 8mm or 30-06.

Just more crap in a storage container for my executor to dump off at the nearest surplus store when I drop dead..

A long time ago, I put together some ammo belts using webs and both types of leather SKS pouches, Yugo vertical and Russian/Chinese horizontal styles. and added hydration, 2 of each. I dug them out the other day and re-evaluated their practicality. Come to find out the obvious, as cool looking and secure as the leather ones are, the stripper clip bandoleers are the lightest for comparative round count. I have 4-40mm ammo cans full of them. I'm in the process of trying to incorporate hydration and vest usage with additional pockets for first aide gear. I also made web belts with German HK91 2 mag pouches. I can tell you right now I'm not running very far carrying ammo. If push comes to shove, I'm throwing down where I stand. 😎 PAX

I understand completely. Some web gear I set up for a shotgun was surprisingly heavy for an out of shape old guy with bad eyesight. Armor plates just by themselves was annoyingly heavy. Just something my executor is going to have to haul away.

I recall watching "Red Dawn" in the 80's and thinking I needed to set up some web gear. Now forty years of buying crap is piling up in various places around my house. Still hoarding more now too.

          At least I quit gambling......

I've done real good in my acquiring new junk. I haven't stopped at a yard sale, thrift store or surplus shop in 2 years. But the bad thing is that stuff self-replicates somehow? PAX
