I have had this M1903 for many years, serial number 1461633

Recently I found my SRS data sheets after having misplaced them during a move ten years ago and looked it up. SRS records these serial numbers as being NM rifles:
1461600A1NM 090239DCM RIFLE SALES 1922-42
1461636A1NM 091735DCM RIFLE SALES 1922-42
Darn, the serial number falls right between these two DCM sales rifles. I might add that I can't see any signs that this was a NM rifle, no polished bolt rails, numbered bolt, star gauged barrel or CM marked bits. It was in a ho-hum condition straight stock and the barrel is dated 7-34, so it is probably correct for the serial number.
Last year I salvaged the C stock it currently is in from an abused stock that I got cheap and decided to use it on this '03. The stock has certainly seen better days, but the condition of it is roughly the same as the condition of the rest of the rifle, so as far as I'm concerned it's a good fit.
The stock has that been there-done that look to it.

I call it my "almost a National Match" rifle. dataurl032521.gif
